Roy (Evan Ellingson) es un adolescente rebelde que, accidentalmente, le disparó a su hermano y se ve forzado a vivir con la familia de su tío para evitar la detención juvenil. Su tío Erik (Cary Elwes) es un gurú motivador que al principio no logra llegar a ningún lado con Roy, el que está permanentemente disgustado. Aunque la familia de Erik es una caricatura sin profundidad de carácter, el choque cultural produce algunos resultados interesantes.
