Cartmel’s sci-fi career continued with work on 2000AD, Doctor Who Magazine, and Virgin’s New Adventures novels. He edited Starburst Magazine (1999–2000) and was Script Editor and lead writer on Dark Knight. His other credits include the novel The Wise, work on Casualty, screenplays like The Masque of the Red Death, and a recent stage thriller.
